Acetate Christmas Scene

Wow, it has taken ages for me to get back to blogging!!!!

I am finally back and so today I thought I would show you a card using the Christmas Tidings Silent Night Stamp.  I printed the stamp out in full and sponged it with blue ink to give that lovley wintery effect. I stamped the image out again but this time I masked the greeting section with a post it note so when I printed it the To and From words weren't shown. I cut out the greeting part mounted it on top of the original stamped image with 3D foam and put a Merry Christmas Glitterations sticker on as the greeting. Then I mounted the prepared piece on a white piece of card and then onto another piece of sponged card. Everything was mounted onto a folded piece of strong acetate.

I love working with acetate as it just creates this fantastic floating effect on a card. You can see in the first picture that I have made a panel slightly smaller then the front image to sit inside the card so it can be written on.

New York New York what a wonderful town!!!

I just thought I would pop up a quick demo card today. Black and White always works for me in fact it kinda rocks my world!!!! This is all stamped from the Urban Bookprint and the Boolfe Patchwork Background stamps from DoCrafts. Just a strip of black card behind the images finishes off the card. Yep..............love it!!!!!

Urban Sister Card

Well I had a fantastic demo today in Premier Arts and Crafts in Bray. Loads of new folds, tutorials and free coffee so a very busy happy day with loads of great customers and friends. Luckly its just a 8 minuite drive home so I was tucked up on the sofa with Hannah watching Glee by 5.30.......happy days.

Ok this card is very different from my usual style but kinda cool I think I took some brown card and folded it over into a square shape. I layered it with the Urban Papers from Docrafts. I sponged the paper in brown ink to age it slightly. I stamped the word Sister onto some of the excess paper and then cut it out, I stamped the "I" again. The full word was then stuck onto brown card and I cut closely around it. I did the same to the letter "I" and then decoupaged it up onto the word sister. The two buttons are from the Boofle button collection and are just layered together with a glue dot..

Hope you like it :)

Pretty in Pink

I love this vibrant little card. Its stamped in screaming pink but it just looks so elegant.

I stamped the flower from the Moments of Faith  Stamp set from Docrafts over and over again to create this lush background. The apertures are cut out with the Label dies from Xcut and the butterfly is from an Xcut dimensional punch.

I hope at some stage to do up a tutorial showing how to make this from scratch, or more importantly how to cut the aperture in your die cutting machine, but with all the demos going on at the moment it may take me a little time to get around to this!!! If you are at one of my demos and want to see it made then just say it and I will be happy to oblige :)

Happy crafting everyone.

Chocoholic

How sweet is this little mouse from the Hot Diggity Dog range by Docrafts. Like me he obviously loves chocolate and of course cheese so I reckon he should be my bestest friend ever!!!!!

When ever I color in an image I always print it out a few times first on scrap card that I have left over from other projects. I test my colors out on these images first before I commit to the actual stamps I am going to use on my  card. You might be thinking it adds loads of extra time to making the card but honestly I make so few mistakes once I have picked my colors and know exactly where each one is going and I end up being a lot quicker getting the coloring done :) Well thats my advice and I'm sticking to it........hehehe.....

I had a fantastic demo today in the Art and Hobby in Tallaght and am still buzzing from it. So no bed for me for a while!!!! Plenty of time for Internet craft hunting :)
