Fantastic Ever Changing Stepper Cards

I have a massive crush on the stepper cards from Docrafts. You can change the shape of them so easily to make different types of cards. This is just one of the cards that I will be uploading over the next few weeks. The stepper card is simply folded back on itself to make a tent card and scored once in the bottom panel to create a nice stand for the card. The banner is from the Xcut nesting dies, the stamp is form the Daisy and Dandelion range and the papers are from the Capsule Collection (all from Docrafts).

Happy Crafting everyone.

Camera Card

 Back of the card

 Lens Cap
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and just known what you have to make. Well this was the card that came to me a few years ago and I just got up the next day and made it. I got a phone call last night from one of the crafters in Dungarvan reminding me about this card and I just had to dig it out and show you.

If you look carefully you can see that its just all about shapes. A folded rectangle of card that has been cornered at the edges to soften the shape. Circles for the lens lifted with black 3D foam between each layer to give the telescopic look to the lens, finished up with a circular frame with Silver card behind it to give the actual lens look. Punches was used to make the holders for the ribbon and the view lens at the top.

For the back of the card I made a false back to hide my punched pieces and secure them. I have pulled the back so its a bit loose so you can see in the photos how everything fits in. I made up the  back buttons with square punched pieces and a silver pen. The back central panel with the acetate is actually lifted up with 3D foam around the edges so that a photograph can be fitted in as part of the card.

The lens cap is two circles that trap the ribbon between them. If I made this card again in the future I would put a magnet in the middle of these pieces of card and a magnet behind the silver Lens on the front of the camera so that the lens cap would stay on the card :)

This has got to be one of my top ten favorite cards that I have ever made, I hope you like it too. Just think of how many people would love to get a card tailored to match the camera they have. Cool right :) By the way Sharon if you are reading this, yes it is the card you were meant to receive 2 years ago that I couldn't bear to part with!!!! lol.

I am entering this card in the Anything Goes - Just Keep on Creating challenge at   http://justkeeponcreating.blogspot.com.au/ . This is their first Challenge and my first ever Challenge entry so I reckon that's a good way for me to start out taking the plunge into the world of Blog Challenges. Go on take the plunge with me and put in an entry :)

Happy Crafting everyone.

Sweet!

This is a card I taught in class a couple of weeks ago, it was inspired by a card in an American Papercrafts Magazine and I have also seen it on the web a few times since.

I have used my Xcut 1 1/2 inch punch for the circles. Each circle is separated near  the edge (not too close) by a circular 3D foam dot to add height. The lollypop stick is a BBQ stick covered in white card. Simply wrap double sided tape around the stick and then roll your card around it, cut off the excess. Card tends to work a lot better for this than paper as the paper ends up looking a bit crushed.

I have made this card in darker colors for my Husband for his birthday at the top I put Happy Birthday, then the sweet stamp and then a heart. ..... Happy Birthday Sweet Heart!!!!   He loved it.

The lollypop looks amazing done up in the Boofle glittered card from the 12 x 12 paper stack.

I hope you like it.

Chocolate Flower Vase

Happy Mothers Day everyone. Don't worry if you don't have kids, just look around your crafty stuff and accept that its your baby :). I am spending today with  my real live baby and tonight with my Flexmarker babies......lol.

This is a project I saw about two years ago on the internet, I made it for my mom and showed it around in demo and I decided to do it again this year because its just such a fab project. The vase is made with 3 bars of chocolate. The flowers and vase wrap are all made from the amazing fantastic adorable Boofle 12 x 12 Paper stack  (can you tell I like it!!!!!). The buttons and decoupage are also from the Boofle range. Is it sad that I have bought 3 packs of the buttons so far!!!!  This project is fantastic for Mothers Day, Birthdays, Get well soon, it just works for most occasions :)

Hope you all have a great day. Happy Crafting everyone.

Owl made with Circles

I go to a great little craft club once a month in Kilcoole that is run by my friend Mary. Everyone takes turns to show things they have seen or ideas they have or card folds etc. Well at the last club night I went to, my friend Avril showed us all a little owl she had seen in a magazine. I love owls (note the blog name!!!!) so I had to make a card up with him.

If you look closely he is made up completely of circles that have been cut into to.

His body is a full circle with a small section punched out at the top to create his ears.
The wings are the same as the owl body size, punch out the circle in patterned paper and then go in again to that circle and hover your punch over the side until you get a nice wing shape, now punch. Do this again for the second wing. You can get this all out of the one circle.
The feet are a smaller circle punched out and cut in half.
The only thing on the owl not from a circle is the nose, take a small circle punch and go in over a corner of a piece of colored card and punch out his little nose.
The moon is cut out with the largest Xcut die cut circle and run through the Big Shot and embossed with a dot folder. I use the back of the folder (the dipped in parts) as the moon is quite pitted.
I drew the tree branch freehand, I'm not great at freehand so I just kept trying until I was happy and then cut it out (all the pencil marks were on the back so it didn't matter!)
The stamp is from Docrafts.

Hope you like this little guy. I love him :)

Happy crafting everyone.

I have to say I adore this little image. Thank you Mary for the loan of it.........I will give it back I promise I just have to stamp it another 500 times!!!!!

If you look at the first picture showing the card you will see it is an embossed piece of white card. The tag is from the Xcut tag dies and the Hi comes from the Abracadabra Xcut letters. If you look carefully I punched 4 lines of scallops with the Xcut punch and then made them all fit around to make the frame. The image has been colored with my amazing fantastic Flexmarkers from Letraset. I didn't go mad with shading etc as I wanted to show that although we all admire these amazing crafters who color with such talent you want to cry, it doesn't have to be that way. When you are starting off into coloring straight on coloring can look great and as your confidence builds your skills build. You can learn all the shading etc when you have the time to play but if you are just trying to get a card made and sent then just go for it, whoever receives it will love it.

Now look at the close up image. I think you could use here for happy cards but also for "Why haven't you called me" cards, cheer up cards etc etc. Personally looking at the image I think about how I feel when housework has to be done (folded arms and expressionless face!!!!!) lol.

Happy Crafting everyone.

Ooohhhhhhh my new babies have arrived

Ok, ok, ok..............finding breathing difficult right now. Look who has come to live with me. Yep I said who......these are my brand new babies. All have individual little personalities (colors!). These markers are from the fantastic Letraset. They have the bullet tip on one end and the amazing flexible brush tip on the other, they come in sets or can be bought separately in 93 different colors.

They work perfectly alongside your Promarkers and they rock my world right now. You can get into small little areas with perfect control. I don't have a picture here but my first set of the Flexmarkers were all beautiful pastel shades that seem to fill a gap of what was missing in my Promarker pens, Flexmarkers even have colours that aren't in the Promarker range so you can complement what you already have.

Ok, so its official, I LOVE THEM :)

There is a link down on the right side of the blog under 'Places I love to Shop' that you can click onto and take a look or even purchase a set yourself if you haven't got any yet. Your going to see a lot more images colored in with my babies from now on.

Happy Crafting everyone.
